Old Forester 1924

The flavors in this bottle were just not that great for me. For a 10 year, I expect more going on and fewer oddball flavors. For the price, there are so many better options if you want an aged whiskey.

Spicy and a bite

Color: It is dark and very oily. The legs look great. Nose: Instant caramel bomb. I also get vanilla. I get toasted oak like lighter and more mellow than just regular barrel char. This smells amazing. It smells like you are walking through a chocolate candy shop. Taste: I get a lot of caramel primarily on the taste at the start. In the middle I get a tangy oaky note. Finish: Decent medium toasted oaky finish. Water?: No water needed.

Glass: Glencairn, rested 15 minutes. Color: Medium-dark amber. Nose: Fruity and floral notes with a touch of caramel. Palate: Baking spice and cinnamon with a nice oily quality. Finish: Medium length with medium heat. Splash: A minty note appears once the spice from the palate is toned down. Overall: 8.5/10 - Although the proof is somewhat low for the price, this is an outstanding bourbon. A slight bump in proof would go a long way.
