Old Forester Single Barrel Bourbon Barrel Strength

Just awful. Old forester migjt be the absolute worst major distillery. Tannic and harsh and awful.

The Wise Old Dog store pick @ 127.6 proof Warehouse H Floor 5 Glass: Glencairn, rested 15 minutes. Color: Medium-dark amber. Nose: Caramel, vanilla, raisin. Palate: Oak, Cinnamon, clove with a lingering raisin note. Finish: Long length, medium heat. Splash: The spicier notes and the oak are more balanced with just a few drops of water. Overall: 9/10 - These high proof OF store picks hit all the right notes for me. Great in a cocktail or on the rocks.

Cherry and oak on initial taste, very bold heat with leather aftertaste. More bold heat than flavor but solid

Brown bag Barrel pick

1st barrel from B&B was 131.4 from early 2023. Cinnamon & spice and full mouth feel. 2nd bottle from B&B mid 2024 was more mellow but bannana nut bread. Both great picks!
