While tasting Old Grand Dad Bottled in Bond, the high-rye makes itself apparent tasting more like a rye than most high-rye bourbons I've tried. It definitely has that rye spice note that leaps out on the first taste as well as the alcohol forward taste from the proof. When adding a little water, I noticed cinnamon and apple notes. Overall, it's a perfect bourbon for cocktails that really cuts through due to the rye and proof. Personally, this may be my new go-to for old fashioneds.
