Nose: the orange notes and caramel tones are easily detected.
Appearance: Honey/Amber
Taste: it says “High Rye Mash Bill” right on the front, and it isn’t lying. The first taste hits you with the peppery rye. Combined with the 100 proof, it packs heat up front. But don’t let the heat turn you away. Go back for a 2nd and a 3rd sip. Once your mouth gets used to the 100 proof, the taste opens up for you. A sweet, caramel and burnt sugar tones are apparent up front, with the hint of orange zest people have talked about coming through. The finish is a medium bodied, oily finish that lingers. At the end of the taste, you pick up the oak notes. You really taste oak and dried fruit in the aftertaste
At the price, it should be a daily sipper in everyone’s collection
