Old Hickory Hermitage Reserve Rye

Reviewed November 7, 2022It’s 95 MGP and that not a bad thing but tastes as you would expect with the upfront pine, classic MGP rye on the pallet and a slightly bitter finish. Like the name, good looking the bottle and great in a cocktail.60.0 USD per Bottle -

Reviewed January 30, 2022 (edited March 21, 2022)MGP 95% rye. 96 proof, aged 6 years. a gift. nose. spicy: leather, coffee, mint, licorice. new oak and classic rye is present. palate: fine, elegant. an easier sipper. less spice less warmth less hug than i imagined. probably why this doesnt get talked about much, its $60+ and doesnt really stand out. like a dickel but not enough better to justify $35 more in spending. Sagamore, WILDERNESS Trail, BOONE County, Jeffersons all have better products in my opinion.59.9 USD per BottleBig Ten Party Store Okemos -

Reviewed July 15, 2020 (edited January 30, 2022)Have heard mixed reviews on the Old Hickory brand, but thought I'd give this one a go since it was a more limited release. Nose is unmistakably rye here. I almost get a pine forest scent on the edges. First sip is somewhat lacking of a strong flavor to be honest. Some classic Rye pepper starts to come through, but without any strong bite. The finish is somewhat short with a mild burn. This one is interesting to me. If you like a classic Rye, but find many to be overly harsh you might really enjoy this dram. One might even say it is quite smooth for a Rye blend. Personally I prefer a little more flavor and full body to my pour, but you could certainly do much worse than this in your glass.60.0 USD per Bottle
