Having some on the rocks. Butterscotch/toffee/caramel mix but without any real sweetness on the initial sip, a quick flash of an almost vanilla note comes in and evolves to a lot of oak and a slight hint of orange and overripe banana. Lingering flavors of more butterscotch/toffee. Fairly smooth here, just slightly rough when drank neat.
This is the absolute best cheap rum I've ever had. I'd pick this over El Dorado 12 year and probably even the more expensive Appleton Estate 12 year. Incredibly smooth for its age. Blows other sub $30 rums out of the water
