First rye that I've purchased that wasn't made in North America.
Nose: Savoury, spicy and herbal. Unexpected and completely different than the sweet, caramel and caraway I'm used to with Canadian/American ryes.
Palate: Fruitier and sweeter than the nose would indicate. The rye spice is there, but it's gentle. Christmas pudding in a glass.
Finish: Lengthy with subtle oak and tart green apple.
Full of flavour and yet it carries a gentle touch. Not at all what I'm used to when it comes to 100% rye mashbills. I hope to find more European ryes soon.
