Pure Kentucky XO

Don’t let the price fool you. This is a great bourbon. No flashy packaging. Aged 12 years and under $40. This is a really good bourbon. Perfect proof at 107. Good taste with just the right amount of Ky Hug. Will make this a regular purchase.

Brown sugar, toffee, spice, oak, vanilla. This is one of my favorite sleepers.

Spicy, long finish, bread

Sometimes my friends give incredible blind samples. Sometimes my friends are the worst. This was mixed in a set of blinds from @thechad Nose: honestly this smells like the bottom of a sweaty gym bag. I’m scared to taste it, but I’ve got to give a review to find out what this is. Palate: vegetal bitterness. As I swirled it around my mouth I was getting hints of black licorice but as soon as I swallowed I shuddered and the unmistakable taste of canned green bean juice hit me. I’ve only gotten this note in one whiskey before and this has got to be pure Kentucky. Finish: regret. 6.9/100

Ooof. Had this in a blind tasting and several of us who tasted it found an assortment of notes relating to canned green bean juice, new garden hose, menthols, and hand soap. 🤣 10/10 Do not recommend.
