Butterscotch candy, clear as day aroma. Intensely rich, approaching syrupy. Definitely decadent, an improvement over the 12 but has a medicinal bitter earthy tail that's a little discordant. Tons of fire of course because of the strength.
It’s batch 2020 and I was happily surprised. Despite the high ABV, you could taste tropical fruits, vanilla and overall it’s very rich/complex taste. It’s quite smooth as well for 57.6% ABV.
Batch 21/B1
Nose: vanilla sweet, buiscuity, more orchard fruits (red apple) than the 2020 version, which is more on the dried fruits side. More biscuity tgan the 2020 version
Palate: creamy upfront, mouth covering, vanilla sweet, cereal, intensive spicyness towards the finish
Finish: really sticky sweetness, pungent spices, some dark chocolate
20/B01 batch
Nose: immediate buiscuits, vanilla sweetness, warming spices and faint dried fruits, nuts (cashew), more fruity than the 2021 version
Palate: soft upfront, getting very spicy towards the late palate, creamy, fruity
Finish: sticky, lingering sweetness , honey , cinnamon , moderate bitterness
A wonderful dram.
Nose: Intense aroma of sherry cask and raisins.
Palate: Lighter than I expected on the body. An intense firey hit of vanilla and sherry that's quite overpowering.
Finish: Sherry dominates the palate and the finish to the point that it's a bit too much for me but I understand why people like it.
Notes: Water doesn't really do much to quiten down the beast.
