Redwood Empire American Whiskey

Very sweet/sugary nose. Not much flavor, strong burn

Batch 1 bottled 11/9/17. I get caramel, leather and orange notes from the bourbon mixed with mint, dill and eucalyptus from the rye. Throw in a little chocolate and wine from the port barrels. It was a definite conversation piece in a zoom tasting. I don’t quite know what to make of it. It’s good, but it seems like all the flavors are not fully integrated. Distiller Review No. 394

Very smooth on ice. Great tasting and was a pleasant surprise.

Great nose - sweet, vanilla, and definitely get some apple. Palate is oily with a lack of flavor on the top but a rich finish with a little spice. Solid B in my book. Skeptical whether or not it’s worth the price.

Nothing exciting or wrong, brown sugar, honey, cherry, thin, not much of a finish. Very light oak.
