Rogue Dead Guy Whiskey

Honey caramel light barrel and floral aroma. Deep honey flavor and lingering finish. Nothing dramatic but not bad.

Just not very good and the descriptions/marketing is complete bullshit!

Flat beery nose at first. But give it about 10 minutes. Then it's just a rich coffee chocolate and baking spice. Palate is similar to the nose. Like a milk/dark chocolate coffee hazelnut caramel desert. But not cloyingly sweet. Mouth feel isn't super oily and thick but it's not thin either. Velvety but you can tell it's somewhat young. Would love to see what this would be with the age statement on the Oregon single malt (>5 yr). Medium length finish. A bit dry but in a way that makes you want to have another drink.

Says ocean aged for two years on the bottle, so this may be a more recent release than others have reviewed. N: Whiskey's usual suspects: caramel and vanilla. There's a touch of yeasty, breadyness too. Maybe something floral going on in the background. P: Basically tastes exactly as it smells. Caramel and vanilla run the show with some type of butter and bread combo playing second chair. Fruity notes break through occasionally, pear, maybe a sweet apple, even a little banana. Long spicy black pepper finish with lots of bite. This is good and interesting, especially if you know and love the beer. But it's not particularly great either. A bit overpriced. Great looking bottle and packaging though.

This is the original retro Rogue Dead Guy Spirits. Bottle was aged in oak barrels for 1 month compared to the 2 year in the description. Slightly oaky with a sweet fruity banana flavor. Very banana-y nose with notes of honey. Theres quite a sweet finish in the middle back of the palette. Theres a bit of an earthy grassy hint after a couple sips. The flavor profile definitely changes quite drastically with each sip.
