Reviewed December 7, 2022On the nose , definitely know it’s a rye but in an overwhelming manner. Obviously oak and maple syrup sweetness. Taste follows the nose. You really get that maple that comes through along with the rye spice and some pepper on the backend. It’s a nice bottle that will be pleasing to most especially if they like a maple syrup sweet profile. Not one I reach for too often, but it never is disappointing.55.0 USD per Bottle -

Reviewed November 30, 2022I’m digging this. Has a nice spearmint taste. Not like gum spicy mint. But a subtle fresh mint from the garden. Thick Carmel nose with no wood/oak smell. Also little to no oak in the taste. Thicker after taste that lingers like a Carmel candy57.0 USD per Bottle -

Reviewed November 12, 2022Tried this at a tasting of the Sagamore Spirt core expressions and this is the one that stood and had to come home with me. It’s different in all the good ways and delicious plain and simple. The nose is exiting and lovely…warm dark oak, dried cherries with a hint of apricot, candied walnuts and toffee all of which carry through to the taste with some added orange peel and very nice rye spice. The taste is DEEP and dark and lingering through the finish. This is a truly unique rye that I enjoy thoroughly each time I come back to it.65.0 USD per Bottle -

Reviewed November 11, 2022Nose: pumpernickel bread with some sweet butter Palate: bread, very oaky (duh), syrupy but thin Finish: the rye drinks hotter although this is much higher proof Overall: super dark in the glen, but thin (don’t see any legs at all), not a bad pour -

Reviewed November 1, 2022 (edited November 9, 2022)Nose is caramel and oak. There are some baking spices and some typical rye (dill / fennel) notes. Flavor is sweet up front with vanilla and some caramel. Oak dryness takes over mid-palate with some vanilla and baking spices. Finish sticks with you with oakiness and caramel. Some slight fruitiness as well. Gives a slight hug.
