Sazerac Rye

I've never had this not in a cocktail. I'm not sure if the name created an expectation, but it seems I tasted anise in addition to the usual rye spice.

Some spice right off the bat, but goes down smooth. There’s a nice little burn on the backside. Nothing overpowering, but it’s got some body to it. Nice pour, enjoyed my first experience with this bottle.
