Nose is smokey
Palate is sweet and smokey, with stewed fruit in background
Finish: More sweet smoke and pepper, probably from the high proof
I agree with other reviewers that this isn't a complex whisky but is it smokey and without major flaws like some young whiskies. Prices for Islay whisky is rapidly increasing so this is almost a value whisky.
Not the most complex or refined, but it's flavors are strong and good - smoke, bbq, almond cake - thanks to the high proof, which makes it a satisfying whiskey to sip slowly. The branding is pretty silly, but does capture the aggressive, unsubtle approach of this whisky. Reminds me of Lost Spirits Abomination.
Dont let the hipster packaging fool you. This must be a young spirit as it’s not complex and this is all ablut the Abv which is high but far to noticeable on the palate if not the nose. It’s not even a peat monster so doesn’t even tick that box.
