Springbank 15 Year

2021 release, I think. I can't see any markings on the bottle that would indicate a bottling date. On the nose, I don't know what flowers I'm smelling, but this may be the most floral whisky I've tried, at least on the nose. Underneath the layer of flowers, I can pick up some dried fruit. Peat and the distinct Springbank funk aren't among the perceptible scents to me. The palate brings almond toffee, dried fruit, creamy vanilla, a little salt, then the Springbank funk and light peat sneak in. Gotta say, I really like this one. I'm likely to be a buyer again, if I can ever find it again. I'm at a 4.25, bordering on 4.5.

Nothing particularly wrong with it, but this might be my least favorite expression I've had from the Springbank distillery.

Wonderful whisky; one of my favorites. Classic amber color. Iconic Springbank peanut-brittle nose, along with orange oil, hay, and touches of quince and a subtle, smoky bacon undernote. Airy and light on its feet in the mouth, with the sudden appearance of fresh-pressed sugar cane. Noticeable white pepper along with chicken pot-pie crust and gentle peat on the long finish. 46% ABV is well balanced with the flavor profile.

I am greeted by by wonderful floral, sweet peat, toffee and grape jelly notes, almost ethereal in the glass, still two hands breadth from my nose. Do I dare move in closer? Yes I do! It turns earthy and rich with malt, musty leather, mixed nuts, grapes, varnished wood, hints of toffee and tropical fruit. Entry on the palate is rich, full, oily and savory, oh my! The individual notes from the nose are there but not as detectable from the whole. Finish is long, spicy, woody and drying. Whereas the 10 year was pure drinking pleasure, the 15 demanded my attention and rewarded me accordingly. Thanks to @ctbeck11 for the sample.
