St. George Botanivore Gin

On one hand, you have your typical juniper-forward gins that all taste slightly different from each other, but not by that much. On the other hand, you have your “out there” contemporary gins with unique flavor profiles (Hendricks, Nolets, Uncle Vals). This gin straddles the line between the two in a pleasingly balanced way. You still have the juniper, but it’s balanced with floral and herbaceous flavors. It’s very light and has little heat. Truly a gem.

Makes an amazingly smooth martini

Slightly sweet with prominent lemon and juniper notes and an earthy backing. There is a bit of a spicy burn here that is disappointing. Minerals (perhaps a mix of flowers and anise) hang out behind the citrus and unfortunately the large number of flavors is held back by a few off notes and mismatches. It's interesting, but off-putting. The depth doesn't make up for the clashing notes and occasional rancid taste.

Floral, which I normally am not fond of, but with a sublte tang to it. The strong boozy flavor also hides the floral notes a bit. I don't like it as much as Botanist, but I certainly don't hate it like it like I did Monkey 47. I dont regret owning a bottle.
