Nose: first smell immediately made me think of yogurt covered raisins and buttercream frosting. Second smell reveals a sweet-corn forward vanilla. Brown sugar, citrus, and butterscotch candy are hiding in the background.
Palate: chewy caramel candy, herbal orange zest, cherry, leather, and barrel char
Finish: spicy finish that has a nice rye quality to it in the back of the palate. Cinnamon, more vanilla and oak influence.
Overall I’m excited to see that one of our distilleries here in Texas means business. The other Texas distilleries to me leave me wanting much more. I am excited to see what future releases from them will look like once they have some older barrels.
