Stranahan's Sherry Cask

Plums, dates, leather, vanilla, oak, baking spice… Incredible Sherry nose & influence. Long finish of dark fruits, oak, burnt molasses. Wow. Amazing American Single Malt.

Brown sugar, candy apple on the nose. Somewhat salty palate, fruit leather and cream soda. Finishes bitter and tangy.

On paper this would check a number of my favourites' boxes: cask strength and sherry cask finished. Definitely sherry-forward, but the flavour is notably young, and the cask strength only adds an astringent dimension as opposed to amplifying the flavour.
