Nose: a bit phenolic and oily. Wood. Caramel.
Palate: moderate peat and smoke. Peanut/peanut butter, molasses, dark fruits, a hint of molasses. Decent but not overpowering sweetness
Finish: slight rubber/wood tanin phenols, leather
Sweet and salty nose. Thick briney taste—agree with the bacon assessment—with some apple and tannic, peaty smoke. Caramel, smoke and saline finish.
At first smell, the standard smokiness of a peated scotch. Heavy flavor of smoke and pepper, almost akin to jerky or bacon. As the drink went, the finish started showing signs of pear and caramel. Expensive for my normal tastes, but delicious.
