Tequila Tapatio Blanco

strong scent. burns my throat. cool in mouth.

Smooth and cooling. Really strong tequila smell.

Great agave flavor and smooth

Rating: 16/23 N: Refreshing. Peppery and minty with a little bit of lemon peel. Some sort of baking spice is going on here. Not much of it, but a bit. Maybe allspice and corriander? A hint of oiliness. This is a fairly light nose. P: Lightly flavored, but a bit of mouthfeel is there with some subdued caramelized, herbal, vegetal agave. The spice (white pepper and something a tad sweeter) and mint hit harder though. There's something like clean water that's also a tad fruity. Maybe that's the corriander? Or a tad of apple sneaking in? Faint musty cardboard and also something very faint that's a bit like tar. Hints of brine and lime. F: It's a light finish. The minty, peppery, vegetal agave lingers dryly and faintly for a while. - Conclusion - This isn't my favorite tequila profile, but it's balanced with no particular flaws. It lacks the robustness of even something like Partida Blanco, but it also avoids any really challenging flavors. It's less fruity, funky, and fun than Próspero Blanco, but it doesn't have alcohol intruding to the same extent. I definitely prefer this to the Próspero. The Partida? That's a tougher call. I usually think of Partida as being fairly refined, but this beats it. This is more of in the Ocho range of refinement. I'm looking at a 14 to 17 here. I was leaning toward a 15 for a while, but now I'm thinking of a 16. Thanks @ctbeck11 for this sample :)

I like it. Not sure I love it enough to shelf it but would order it out.
