Honestly for 70 for the bottle I’m extremely happy. Lots of flavor perfect on the rocks brings out the flavor immensely. Very light with a bit of sweet. Strongest flavor is for sure honey with a hint of ginger. Is now one of my favorites. Haven’t tried the sherry cask yet very excited for it though.
Macallan is great, hands down, but it’s always haunted by the price tag… The doble oak adds an extra layer of richness and complexity but, not particularly extraordinary.
Nose: Sweet apricot jam and honey with a dark brown sugar note.
Palate: Creamy mouthfeel. Quite malt forward. Some very gentle baking spice.
Finish: The spices subside and leave a caramelly nut brittle with some stone fruit drizzle. Woody notes persist long into the aftertaste.
Notes: This one is mainly about the finish.
