Macallan Double Cask 12 Year

Fruity. Smell of christmas pudding.

An elegant, Single Malt Scotch by The Macallan Distillery in Speyside, Scotland. It is crafted with their classic Single Malt aged a full 12 years in both American Sherry & European Sherry casks. It has an aromatic birth with notes of grain, wood, fruit, herbs & spices; while a malty life adds notes of ginger, dried cherries, vanilla, caramel; that led to a balanced death of medium length with notes of oak spice, orange marmalade, brittle toffee, honey & warm cinnamon-raisin pastry. Going purely off of hte tasting notes, I definitely get the chocolate, and even some of the sweeter dried fruit notes. The oak is more of a dry mouth feel for me than something that was aggressively oaked, but its nice nonetheless. Despite this not being my usual whellhouse, I'm actually kind of feeling this one.
