Comes off with strong young taste that doesnt match with the proof. Drinks with a high proof at a lower number. If it sat in a barrel for a couple more years it would probably be worth another shot.

This offering is very basic and makes a great smooth sipping whisky or low proof mixer. On the nose there is vanilla, brown sugar, honey, rye spice, and a smidge of citrus. Being low proof there is very little burn. Being a high rye whiskey, the rye spices hit first but do not linger for very long. The sugars are secondary but do coat the palate. The sugars linger longer than the rye spices with a nice hit of burnt brown sugar and vanilla sitting on the teeth. At a higher proof point this product would be super good.
