Tres Generaciones Reposado Tequila
Tequila Valley, Jalisco, Mexico
The name derives from 3 tequila-making generations of Sauza family Dons - great grandfather Cenobio, his son Eladio and Francisco Javier, who officially founded the brand in 1973. This triple-distilled reposado is made from agave aged 6-8 years in the lowlands of Jalisco. It's aged approximately 4 months in American oak.
Tequila ReposadoDistilled from 100% blue Weber agave, it is aged from 2 months up to a year in barrels no larger than 20,000 L. Any type of wood is acceptable, although ex-bourbon barrels are most common. Reposado translates to "rested".
"This is a particularly peppery style of reposado in both vegetal flavor and hot spice. Some warming cinnamon and nutmeg waft in, as well as some faint charcoal smoke. As with the plata, there is a hint of acetone/rubbing alcohol in the finish that breaks up the flavors a bit."
