RyeUnlike bourbon, rye whiskey can be made anywhere in the world. But if made in the US, the mash bill recipe must be at least 51% rye and it must be aged in new, charred oak barrels with no age requirement. Elsewhere, the rye whiskey will be made keeping the country of origin's rules regarding the recipe and minimum aging.
Tasting Notes
"Aromas of tart fresh apple, apricot, vanilla, and bay leaf mix with a subtle spiciness on the nose. The spices — particularly clove, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, and fresh ginger — are much more assertive on the palate, though more tart fruit, cooked peach, caramel, sweet garden herbs, and earthy black tea come through as well. This is a full bodied, robust style of rye, with caramel richness lingering on the palate as spices coat the throat. "
