Wasmund's Single Malt

Nose is very sweet with notes of apple and toffee. Flavor profile is ethanol smoke but not in a peated Scotch way and a sweet finish. Overall, I'm not a huge fan of this one, but it is different for an American whiskey

Copper Fox Wasmund's Single Malt Whisky An intense, American Single Malt Whiskey by Rick Wasmund for Copper Fox Distillery in Sperryville, Virginia aged for 42 months in Bourbon barrels. It's the only distiller in the US to do all of its own grain malting, using barley specifically bred for him. Then he roasts the malted barley with applewood smoke. Once distilled, he places the Spirit in Bourbon casks & adds a packet of chips of various charred wood (oak, apple, cherry). It has an intense birth with notes of herbs, earth & a hint of linseed oil; while a bold life adds notes of cherry, apple, malted barley, nuts & char; that led to a long & fiery death (Cigar like) with notes of oak, white pepper, cherry & a hint of licorice. Wet vegetables, oak, weak

Nose: Gristy, stewed apple, oak, vanilla, fruit jam Palate: Citrus, orange, spicy (black pepper, ginger), wood, dried fruit, cocoa, coffee Finish: Medium finish. Spice, dried fruit, wood, gristy. Citrus and orange notes on the aftertaste. This is a little different from many American whiskeys. The fruit wood drying has added a pleasant jammy, citrus note. Sweet and orange-y. Not a session dram, I couldn't have more than one or two, but it is very tasty.

Banana bread nose, smokey upfront with more of a banana finish.

Woody. Interesting. Not bad. But not great.
