Nose: Sweet with a little rye spice, ripe apples and vanilla. An odd cherry cough syrup comes and goes.
Palate: Relatively smooth with some rye spiciness which is to be expected of course. Some caramel mixes with that cherry on the nose which makes it more like candy than cough syrup.
Finish: Some honey and nuts appear alongside some maltiness from the barley no doubt. Ends with a whisper of caramel covered apples which is a nice surprise!
I took part in the home kit blending. Very close to my own favorite mash bill I created, it is very good. It's an easy sipper, not overly complex. A little pricey for the age and abv. But worth a try.
