Very good woodmans eau claire

Not something I usually drink neat, this sweet rye is one of my standards for rye mixed drinks. It opens up with just a drop of water. Nose of leather and spice with an aftertaste of citrus. Maybe try again this fall in a hot toddy!

Nose: Cinnamon, light spearmint, cereal , slight dust in sunlight, hint of banana peel. Some water intensifies candy flavors with some caramel emerging. Oak is illuminated. Mouth: Much like the nose with greater intensity and complexity. Light bodied and dry. Frooty! Water does not produce a dramatic effect, but strangely makes the alcohol more dominant.

Nice caramel nose with the traditional rye accents. Taste comes in the same with a rye forward taste mixed with caramel and spice. Smooths out for the finish and flavors remain mostly consistent. Enjoyable rye, nothing particularly stand out though.
