Reviewed August 23, 2020The nose is a burst of vanilla, cayenne pepper, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger and rye grains. Pickled jalapenos, baking spices, warm rye spice, and molasses treat the tongue. This is a full bodied, lovely whiskey. -

Reviewed August 22, 2020 (edited August 23, 2020)Revisiting this on a summer night. Astringent at first but then spearmint, herbal tea, dried oak, brown sugar and ethanol. Medium body and full of pipe tobacco, spearmint, pepper, vanilla and oak char. The finish is lengthy and brings back the tobacco and herbal tea with a bittersweet note. Need to drink this head to head with RR green label single barre rye which I recall having more brown sugar sweetness and less of the oak and earthy notes... to be continued. -

Reviewed August 21, 2020 (edited August 22, 2020)Caramel red apples, nutmeg, orange zest, dill pickle, pinch of sawdust Refined sip - hides the booze well at first, but then a steady transition to a lengthy burn reveals the truth. Singular flavor profile; bold yet smooth. Without a doubt one of the best ryes at this price point -

Reviewed August 20, 2020Nose: Strong holiday baking spices with a emphasis on vanilla. Palate: The vanilla carries through but the rye shines greatly. The youth of this whisky comes through and is sharp and direct. That rye stays with you throughout the experience. Finish: The rye hangs on longer than you’d expect. The sharp holiday gingerbread spice keeps at it long after you’ve allowed the gold to slide down. This whiskey can hold its weight against anything thrown at it, cocktails or sink on the rocks.65.0 USD per Bottle
