Yamazaki 18 Year

Phenomenal nose, rich and sweet. Palette is quite tannic, bordering on bitter oak for me, but still has lovely rich and sweet flavors. Regret to say it but i might prefer the 12 year because of the milder oak!

A dark and rich cocoa and fig off the bat, leading to a earrhy, rich malt, some sherry sweetness as well as some oaky pecan notes. Closer to the finish is cherrywood, mild baking spice that last a little short. The remainder of the finish goes back to the sherry casks. This is a great japanese whisky and maybe one of my favs. Will be jumping into more japanese malts
