Reviewed December 22, 2023 (edited May 18, 2024)VA ABC Store pick, that my wife gifted me for a birthday or christmas one year. The nose has a nuttiness and slight banana to it. Behind this is a dark caramel and a hint of vanilla. The taste shows its full character bringing in a full body of the nuttiness and baking spices behind it. After a few sips I pick up some buttery notes with the banana quietly lurking in the shadows. The finish isn't as long as I would expect from this high of proof. It screams with the nutty flavor. Overall, the nuttiness is a bit overwhelming to the rest of the offering here. It is pretty complex as it goes which a really good thing to have behind that punch of the nut. It doesn't get sweet enough for my sweettooth but it is a good overall. -

Reviewed December 16, 2023**MASS/CHECKERS INTEGRIDY FARMS** Nose - Nuttiness, like a salted boiled peanut. A little touch of sweetness, from melted brown sugar. Got loads of oak and leather. Palate - This is very gummy, instantly starting chewing. More of that nose followed in literally. Lots of savory and sweet notes, like a sweet christmas ham. Some vanilla in there, sugar notes. Combined altogether nicely. Finish - The finish is sweet, hot and long. Vanilla and cinnamon with a kentucky hug that lingers in your chest, but not too harsh at all. -

Reviewed November 18, 2023Smokey cigars on the nose and lots of flavors that as I identify individually I think are terrible. BUT… this is the paradigm of the adage, “sum of the parts is greater than the whole.” Comes off so much better than expected. Very soft and smooth, probably the result of the relatively low abv, but, whatever, it works… -

Reviewed October 31, 2023 (edited December 28, 2023)Picked By: LiqGo Barrel #: 11941 Barreled: 9/26/18 ABV: 59.5% Nose is sugar, cream, perfume, flowers. Brine. Body is sugar, yeast, dough, grains. It’s hot. Tastes way younger than I was expecting. Tea leaves. Finish is grainy, with a mild cinnamon. This tastes truly unfinished and young. The body burns. It feels at times like GIRD in a glass. Truly disappointing. 119 is getting up there, so I tried it on ice. While it definitely did improve the feel of the drink, the flavors are still just not great. It tastes shockingly basic, and overpriced by double or triple the price. I really don’t see a place in my life for this one.
