Yellowstone Hand Picked Collection Single Barrel Bourbon

Virginia ABC barrel 9530 abv 59.5 barked 8/20/18. Vanilla and caramel in the nose. Flavor is intense with notes of licorice, brown sugar, oak, and a decent bite from the social. A long vanilla finish wraps it all up.

Hickory tree pick 2022 Dark straw in color with a bit of worn brass. Sticks quite tight to the glass for the proof. Toast, caramel, some ripe cooked fruits and a pleasant nuttiness and a waft of barn must. Bountiful warmth via the strength and a growing spicy warmth throughout the mouth and chest. The finish is medium length and leaves a delicious tart fruit/caramel/burnt sugar coating. Opens and softens a bit with a few drops of water. I really like this, and it may be one of my favorite Yellowstone offerings to date. Clearly nailed a great barrel here!

Better than base Yellowstone but not by a lot.

Neck pour wasn’t great. This bottle needed some air badly. Making room for oxidation with four pours helped it quite a bit. The heat and flavors are more balanced now. I’m not good at picking out flavors, but it is complex and enjoyable.

Good fall bourbon. Has some cinnamon and graham crakcer taste. Spicy without being overbearing.
