Apples and cherries on the nose, like smelling a mulled fruit punch. Theres vanilla, ginger, and toffee wafting up from the glass.
Cinnamon and and spice hit first on the palate then turns to fruit.
The finish hits hard — a sudden rush of chilies and black pepper overwhelm at first, then give away to mint and sun tea.
This one will need some water, I think.
With some water, the nose brings some molasses to accompany the cherries and apples. The palate is sweeter. The finish, less spicy and mellow.
A tasty bourbon with some depth and nuances to explore. Yum!
