New Spirits Releases - July 15, 2022

This is the first whiskey in the brand's Decade Series, a limited edition collection of American whiskeys which were procured from producers across the country. Release #1 is a 10 year-old high-rye (22%) Tennessee straight bourbon which is neither charcoal mellowed before barreling nor chill-filtered after aging. It's bottled at 100 proof and is available at select retailers nationwide beginning July 2022.

Introduced in 2022, this is one of three core whiskies in the Royal Brackla portfolio. Malt Master Stephanie Macleod finished each of the three expressions in a sherry cask from Bodegas Jose y Miguel Martin in Jerez, Spain. For this 12 Year, oloroso sherry casks were used. Please note that this expression replaces the previous 12 Year bottling which was packaged at 40% ABV. This new version is bottled at 46% ABV without chill filtration or added caramel coloring. Availability for the US begins in July 2022 in select markets including NY, DC, and Chicago.

Woodford Reserve Master's Collection Batch Proof is a series within a series as it falls under the Master's Collection umbrella. Batch Proof highlights the brand's proprietary batch process and is a bottling of the bourbon's actual proof, straight from the barrel. It's released annually with a different batch and proof. This batch is bottled at 118.4 proof, far from the 90.4 proof which is traditional for Woodford Reserve. However, this Batch Proof expression is a lower proof than other selections in the series due to more 1st floor barrels used in the batch -- the Angel's Share is lower here than at higher floors. This limited edition is available in select US and global markets as of July 2022.

Named after one of the great rivers in Texas, Guadalupe is a limited edition release from Garrison Brothers. This 2022 release was made using 30-gallon bourbon barrels which were filled in 2016. After four years of aging in white American oak, the bourbon was then transferred into tawny port casks for an additional two years of maturation. The distillery will first release 1002 bottles on July 23, 2022 and a further 4900 bottles will be released nationwide beginning August 1, 2022.

Barrell Bourbon Batch 033 is made from a blend of straight bourbon whiskeys distilled in Tennessee, Kentucky, and Indiana. Barrell Craft Spirits selected and blended barrels of high-rye and high-corn bourbons for this bottling. They were aged 5, 6, 7, and 9 years. Batch 033 is bottled at cask strength of 116.6 proof and is available as of July 2022.

The eighth whiskey in BBCo.'s Discovery Series is made with a blend of Kentucky bourbon, Indiana rye, and aged Canadian Whisky. Additionally, the final blend was matured with a selection of oak staves such as French toast and Rioja barrels. Bottled at 114.1 proof, this is available at the distillery and selected markets in the US as of July 13, 2022.

The Lumberyard Batch is the second batch for 2022 in the Booker's Small Batch Bourbon releases. This batch is named to honor the lumberyard that Booker worked at with his uncle Jeremiah Beam prior to his work in the distillery. This Kentucky bourbon is aged for 7 years, 1 month, and 7 days. And like all Booker's Small Batch Bourbon bottlings, this is uncut and unfiltered with this batch coming in at 124.8 proof. Available as of July 2022 nationwide.

The 2022 release of Rieger’s Monogram Whiskey consists of a blend of straight bourbon whiskeys that were previously matured between 6 1/2 to 10 1/2 years before entering the Monogram solera. The blend was finished for up to 48 months in the century old, 500-liter oloroso sherry casks (aka botas) from Williams & Humbert, one of the oldest producers of Sherry in Jerez, Spain. It is bottled at 51.5% ABV. Only 1,887 bottles available at the J. Rieger & Co. distillery and in select retail stores throughout Missouri and Kansas beginning July 14th 2022.
