Chairman's Reserve The Forgotten Casks Rum
Aged Rum — Saint Lucia
Reviewed August 17, 2021 (edited September 22, 2021)Gentle pineapple, hint of honey, and faint floral aromas. Tastes really good! Pineapple is the main flavor that sticks out for me. Texture is more watery than syrupy. Works well in a mixed drink but given the price it would be a waste to hide it in too many ingredients! Rating based on neat sipping.30.45 USD per Bottle -
Bunnahabhain 12 Year
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed July 21, 2021 (edited November 19, 2021)Plum and faint faint peat aroma from the bottle. A little bit of crisp green apple, too. Nice. Definitely get the peat flavor but it's nice and gentle. Has an almost caramel after-taste with a stronger peaty smokiness. Rating is based on neat sipping.69.95 USD per Bottle -
Smells of typical Irish whiskey and crisp red apple. Has some spiciness on the tip of the tongue. I think it tastes better than standard Jamison even with the familiar Irish flavor. Neutral in flavor and leans into the sweet side. A couple of drops of water brings out the vanilla aroma with the flavor of lightly charred oak wood. Goes okay in Coke/Pepsi but I think those are too sweet for it. Ratings are based on neat sipping.

Aroma of brown sugar and a hint of red apple. Smells quite nice. Not much flavor in the mouth but mostly appearing after swallowing and very brief. I detect a little caramel and what kinda-sorta is like a Jamaican funk/hogo but not as good. Has a taste like that of lesser quality rums. I tried it in a Coke and the resultant flavor still tasted cheap. Rating based on neat sipping.56.95 USD per Bottle

Smells of maple syrup, honey, and bourbon. Ooh...a hint of green apple and caramel! Yes, bourbon, but with a sultry smoked peat that's not overpowering. I like that the bourbon is not THE dominant sense. A little caramel and black pepper at the end with sugar syrup. After a few minutes the empty glass smells like an unlit, chocolate infused cigar. And there's that little green apple... Amazing! Looking at the other tastings I see flavors all over the place, which is interesting, but that means it could have a broad appeal. Rating based on neat sipping.

Black Tot Finest Caribbean
Navy Rum — Multiple Countries
Reviewed March 29, 2021 (edited May 6, 2021)Caramely molasses aroma from the bottle but stronger alcohol, anise, and citrus peel -- maybe a bit of ripe banana -- from the glass. Odd. I don't get much flavor but it does taste like it has some Jamaican funk to it, which presents itself more strongly in a mixed drink. Bourbon presents itself as well but not annoyingly strong. Ratings are based on neat sipping.64.95 USD per Bottle
