Tastes

Nose... A soft touch of tobacco and leather meets sweet marshmallows and apples.. Color... A very rich medium to dark copper.. Taste... Oats, heavy butter, apricots, bananas, vanilla ice cream, dessert undertones... Overall.... This BIB is remarkable. I have tasted Bourbon at prices which are much higher and unworthy of their cost. This BIB however is truly fantastic for the price. If it were priced at $45 to $55 people would purchase it if the liquor store were to carry it on a higher shelf. It's flavor is rich, textured, and gratifying. A fantastic bourbon at just about any price...

Nose.... Soft notes of bananas, nutmeg and caramel are prominent... Color... Dark gold, almost slightly amber.. Taste...Balanced and smooth, and not at all overpowering, this is creamy and corn rich. Notes of vanilla and cherry come through after breathing it in... Overall... This is definitely a mixer for me. While I do enjoy the taste, it just doesn't have much complexity from start to finish. I'll keep this around, but cannot suggest it.. Beginners whiskey...

Nose.... Pure butter. I cannot emphasize the dessert qualities this evokes. From fresh butter, vanilla, toffee, butterscotch and nutmeg, it's as if I've walked into a bakery. Appearance... Dark copper to a light mahogany. Taste... It's herbal and grains encapsulated. Rich oats, brown sugar and fresh butter... Overall... This is French toast and Bourbon. It's as drinkable neat as any bourbon I've had the opportunity to come across. Just fantastic. THIS BOTTLE IS A BINNY'S BEVERAGE DEPOT, CHICAGO, ILLINOIS, BINNYS SELECT BOTTLE, NOT THE STANDARD "YELLOWSTONE" MODEL/BOTTLE...

Nose... A faint hint of alcohol is followed by such goodness. Besides a touch of cotton candy, I noticed pepper, caramel, raisins, oak, dark fruits and more... Color... A darker amber, to light copper... Taste... Sweet oats, dark cherry, seasoned wood, cinnamon, vanilla and pepper... Overall... An enjoyable sipper this is. While I would truly like to taste this as a cask, because I think they've lowered the proof too much, it's still such a nice taste. The Wild Turkey family has struck again....

Nose...Picking up ripe pears, fresh baked banana bread, toffee, cocoa, carmelized butter, cherries, and then some... Appearance... Light to medium copper.. Taste... Oak Staves present themselves so well here. Dark fruits, sponge cake, wheat, slight smoke and pepper... Overall... Simply put, this Maker's Bourbon has taken one step closer to perfection. As far as bourbon or whiskey that has been either casked in wine barrels or something of the sort, I would say that this, with just 10 French oak staves has possibly won the entire challenge. From the price point, and the drinkability as neat as I like it, it's just really good and such an enjoyable sipper....

Nose.... This is dessert in liquid form. Burnt caramel, cinnamon, brown sugar, tofee and tabacco. Color... Dark amber to light copper. Taste... Oily, rich and sweet, this is chock full of flavor. Rye dominant, and spice forward this is smooth and rich... Overall... An absolute worthwhile find. I would liken this to an incredibly fresh rye bread that's still warm and with plentiful seeds. It's a perfect drink for sipping neat.... Excellent....

Nose... Dutch Apple pie, caramel, chocolate, toffee and other dessert notes through and through... Color... Light to medium mahogany.. Taste... Cherry pie, chocolate, Port wine, oats, raisins, and time..... Not thyme, but actual time... Overall.... Just buy this. I don't need to explain it nor push it any harder. It's what you hope for if you've had the general version. This is exactly what a cask should taste like, it just truly brings out the flavor of the wood. An exceptional drink....

Nose... Burnt caramel dessert, almost like a freshly baked cake dipped in liquer. Appearance... An astounding medium to dark mahogany.. Taste...A true wheater, which is filled with nutmeg, oats, chocolate, vanilla and cinnamon... Overall... Such a nice sipper. Although it's higher proof, albeit not for a cask, it maintains such an easy taste even when poured neat. Such a hit and very much enjoyable....

Nose... Brown sugar and burnt butter, along with vanilla and oats... Color...A nice dark copper almost reaching a light mahogany... Taste... Wheat dominates the first chew, nutmeg follows, and fresh baked bread, plus almonds take the lead... Overall.... At this price point Larceny is a complete winner and then some. Plenty of simple flavors yet pronounced so subtly it's a true sipping Bourbon whiskey. I will definitely have this on call....

Nose... Marshmallows, caramel, apricots and maple syrup just to name a few... Color... A light to medium copper.. Taste.... Subtle rye, toasted almonds, seasoned wood, pepper, tobacco and raisins... Overall... The higher proof, deep char and 6 to 8 years spent in the barrels gives this Bourbon such knockout flavors at a fantastic price. It's bold, complex and yet totally refined, even to drink neat which is my style. Change the packaging and rename it, then double the price, and people will purchase more of it than they do now. It's a STEAL....
