Auchentoshan Three Wood
Single Malt — Lowlands, Scotland
Reviewed February 13, 2021 (edited April 6, 2021)Nose is Butterscotch, sherry, buttery, very sweet but also sour note, it has a funky cheese note to it as well. Taste is sweet honey on the very front and quickly develops into a sour sherry, followed by heat and a nutty bitterness. The taste reminds me of Turning Point Rye. Finish is light and the sherry flavor lingers.85.0 USD per Bottle -
Nose is briny, iodine, campfire smoke, ashy, oaky, sour cherries, leather Taste is caramel, toffee, brine, a little smoky (campfire), there is a sour note like dried figs, and a bitterness at the end like eating the skin off the inside of a pistachio. Finish is dry and bitter and reasonably long lasting.65.0 USD per Bottle

Nose briny, oak, piney, iodine, rich dark fruit Taste is boiled peanuts on the front end and a wave of flavor crashes back toward the tongue in a cascade of evergreen, menthol and brine that repeatedly crash into you wave after wave until it finally dissipates. This finish lasts forever. Could go minutes between sips without missing a flavor.80.0 USD per Bottle

Woodinville Cask Strength Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — Washington, USA
Reviewed January 2, 2021 (edited February 20, 2021)Nose: Caramel, oaky, sawdust, cherries, nose hits hard with high proof. Taste is sweeter than the nose, very cherry, light oak, the high proof is hidden in the taste, very easy to drink. Front end is all sweet cherry, gets a little sour like a dried fruit toward the back end. With a smaller taste, the sweet cherry is the primary flavor. With a larger taste it leans toward cherry coke. Oaky mouthfeel and cherry tartness linger on the palate with a burn from the proof. -
Nose is rye spice, vanilla, orange citrus, after a vigorous swirl getting a lot of cinnamon and clove. Taste is hot. High proof comes through. Light caramel sweetness followed quickly by alcohol heat, oaky sawdust, citrus, rye spice and a little shortbread cookie at the end. Oily finish with a dry oakiness left on the tongue.81.0 USD per Bottle

Taste is also sweet, cherries, chocolate on the front and dried fruit, dates, oak on the back. Palate is oily finishes easy, cherry and oak lingers for a while. For nearly 120 proof, it is an easy drinker and doesn't hit as hard as I would expect.71.0 USD per Bottle -
Nose: back off from the glass a bit, at nearly 60% ABV and an islay, this one will kick you in the nostrils. Iodine, briny, campfire smoky, kind of like opening a bag of Kingsford charcoal bricketts while standing on a beach. Taste is Sweet and salty, followed by a slight burn from the alcohol, followed by a wave of smoke, charcoal. Oily palate, smoke lingers, gums go a little numb like you just had a sip of absinthe. One of the most interesting whiskeys I've had for sure.200.0 USD per Bottle
