Tastes

Nose: leather, strong peat, charcoal, hay Taste: leathery, oily, mild spice, star anise, citrus, briney. Being relatively newer in my Whisky journey, I have been searching for bottles that I would like to own. This is definitely one of them. I don't think it's a special occasion drink. But more like a go-to dram or to impress some guests who probably aren't into Scotches. The perfect everyday scotch. 85/100

Smell - Chocolate!! Hot chocolate, bourbon, raisins, medicinal (b-complex capsule), malty. Taste - powerful!! Long finish, spicy, burn, chocolate, caramel, honey, sweet, cinnamon, star anise, vanilla

Slightly smokey, peaty, citrus, sweet and spicy

Smell - chocolate, desert, malty, s'mores Taste - vanilla, spicy, mild heat, fruity

Fruity, sweet, spicy. Great finish.

My favorite scotch so far! Strong peaty smoke on the nose, like campfire and bacon. Taste - smokey barbecue, leathery, maple, sweet and spicy! Long finish!

Sharp, spicy, strong alcohol. Tastes young.

Nose - sweet, floral, fresh, citrus, vanilla, fruits, grape Taste - green grapes, sour and sweet, floral, spicy, fades away in the mouth, minty fresh finish

Nose - green apples, fruity, floral, fresh and spring fragrances, light smoke Taste - apples, sweet, floral, citrus, grapefruit Feels very classy, elegant.

Decided to review after a long time again as my palate has matured and I hope to appreciate it more. Nose - a very fruit forward nose. Syrupy, raisinish. I also get leather and wet log. Funky. Tropical fruits like, pineapples, green apples, banana. Has a very rich feel! Luxurious. Sherry cask influence is very evident. Tongue - spicy! Get a decent peat hit! Medicinal as well! Different than the 10 year old! Has an interesting quality, where it starts off coming accross as sweet but the more it lingers the sweetness drops off! Coats the mouth well. Typical campbeltown funk! A dirty pour! Finish is medium long! The sherry cask finish adds tons of richness, and syrupy goodness! Presence of peat ticks a numebr if boxes for me! I definitely appreciate the intricacies of this whisky way more now!! New rating - 4.25
