Bruichladdich The Classic Laddie
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed February 22, 2022 (edited October 16, 2022)When I ordered it, I had high expectations. When I read about it, The story was excellent, the distillery’s statement was unique and bold… and it didn’t cause any disappointment at all. This is exactly what I looked for. Fresh natural, complex, stunning. You don’t feel the tiredness of the long maturation that sometimes you can get from a 12 years old drum. In the nose you can smell the fresh oak combined with it the barley sugar, the flowers and the light see breeze with slight lemon zest. A drop of a water after that does the miracle: opens the second layer of the spirit and you can easily spend couple of minutes just to smell the new aromas….and keep smelling :) After the first sip what you have in your nose, all the aromas will fully fill your mouth and gives you everything what you are expecting after the fragrance. The finish is long keeping all taste components in your mouth. If you wait even for half an hour today is this still on your tongue. And you are really looking forward to try it again:) This is full balanced, complex single malt. -
GlenDronach Original 12 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed February 17, 2022 (edited November 16, 2022)This whisky is almost great because sometimes you are keen to drink sweet whisky, sometimes you are looking for something spicy. Glendronach original gives your both. This is a nice masterpiece of a cherry maturation style whisky, but if you are looking for something peaty, or a strong character you need to keep on searching. In the nose is really sweet - sometimes it’s too much sweet, but if you like the Sweet drums, it is definitely a good choice. Sherry maturation is really dominating with raisin, nutmeg, cinnamon characters. You can also find vermouth like characters (this is what I didn’t like, sometimes I find it too harsh) On the palate, exactly the same, with some bitterness (and very slight chocolate if you are really I want to find this test component). We can say the taste is absolute in harmony with the nose, on the other hand I miss something extra. The finish is long enough leaving delicate oaky, sherry smoothness in your mouth. -
This is one of my favourite scotch Single malts. Even if it comes from Islay you are not tired of to have a peat. It really delivers complex experience. In your nose the peaty smoke is definitely the first that is dominating in the first second, but right after that you can smell the nice vanilla that comes from the bourbon but else rich in raisin, and you can also smell some orange very slight chocolate. No doubt that this is full bodied characteristic whisky. On your palate the vanilla and the raisin are dominating well rounding with a full oily and peaty tasting notes In the finish the see salt comes making a nice mix with the peat and the vanilla.

Really good, almost exceptional. It isn’t because of the strong competition on Islay, those who can bring similar ‘Islay heavy peat experience’. (Laphroaig) In the nose the expected heavy peat, but it sweeter then Laphroaig but slightly less peaty. The see salt also hitting pleasantly your senses mixing it with some spiciness. Actually you can taste te same. No surprise. Strong, characteristic taste with some smoothness.

This is a heavy weight champion (wining couple of medals). Dark, almost brownish colour. In the nose you can also feel the strong, spicy character, that also let the fruits to play with your senses. In your nose it so strong - saying that in a 100% positive way - that you can start to taste it without siping:) If you like the strong whiskys this will not disappoint you. On the palate silky, but bold sweetness, rye with its spiciness. A bold, strong character in the world of whiskys.

If you like the heavily peated whiskies then definitely this will be one of your favourites. In the nose you can smell it immediately. Like you smell the campfire. This dominates the whole experience, but your are not in rush you can easily recognise brine-sweetness as well and the the barley also come over. On your palate the sweetness is surprisingly dominating - giving a nice invitation- in the first second than the peat kick the door in and grab your tongue to give after some space for the see salt and to the spices (anise, cardamom)

Rittenhouse Rye Bottled in Bond
Rye — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed February 7, 2022 (edited February 23, 2022)This whiskey is definitely the best rye I’ve ever tasted. Full bodied, spicy but sweet. Someone said that “this is a must to have on your shelf “ but 100% agrees with this statement. -
Pearse Founder's Choice 12 Year
Single Malt — Ireland
Reviewed February 1, 2022 (edited February 23, 2022)The glass is different what you can find here. Actually it is almost the same as 5yo single malt but this is 12yo single malt:) This is a exceptional whisky with full, fruit, sweet vanilla in your nose. But if you have good nose you can identify all what is listed on the glass. So it’s really playing with your senses:) When you start to taste, next to the fruit, immediately comes the nice taste of malted barley (I really love whiskys where this is intensive) and the light smoke of bourbon barrels and the spicy herbs. I do love this. Especially because of the long finish. This won’t disappear from your tongue in a few minute. So let yourself to enjoy all small sips;) don’t rush with that. -
Although this whisky is in a lower price range none of the whisky lovers need to keep them away from it:) but this is a must to taste!! Especially if heavy peat isn’t your favourite this should be in your “home-bar”. This is a masterpiece of Aeneas Coffey’s continuous still distillation. A demonstration that in good hand a column still can produce high quality, enjoyable whisky. Despite of the light colour you can smell promising, intense sweet fruit aromas (banana, pineapple). You can smell toffee, and pie but the fruits are dominating. The dominance of the fruit will continue on your tongue and palate. On the other hand the sweetness is reduced a little bit giving some space to the barley (because this spirit is 100% made of malted barely like single malts). The finish is quite long to enjoy further the mix of all what you tasted. Maybe you can read out of me lines that this is not the most complex whisky in the world, but sometimes you don’t want the complexity, you don’t want to amaze your mate, just sit down in the end of a hard day and bring some joy from the nature:)

Green Spot Single Pot Still
Single Pot Still — Ireland
Reviewed January 25, 2022 (edited February 23, 2022)The first smell brings fruit to your nose, especially banana sweetness is dominating. The aroma says that you don’t need to wait for complexity but much more sweetness and light easily enjoyable spirit. The sip is little bit contradictory what your are looking for on the base of the aroma ( or we can also say brings a little surprise:)): the fruity notes almost disappearing. On the other hand smoothness remains and now you can start to feel what is single pot still. You can feel on your tongue and on palate the uniqueness of 50% unmelted barley. This is definitely dominating the taste. The finish is nice, brings together the early sweetness and the cereal character although not soo long. It can be your favourite if you like the natural smoothness, but definitely unique on the market
