I have used Parrot Bay Rums for a while now and for their price point, they are really good for "Fru-Fru" drinks that my wife likes. It has a soft non-medicinal rum that mixes very well and is not offensive. I do not buy flavored rums to uncover the hidden meaning of life because that is what a good bourbon is for. Buy it as a mixer and enjoy it.15.0 USD per Bottle

This is a review for Bacardi Coconut Rum as I do not see it in the line-up for the Bacardi Rums. I bought several flavored rums for my wife as she loves the crazy colors and flavors of tropical drinks. I have made Pina Coladas and drinks I had in Hawaii. Sadly, this is a poor substitute for Parrot Bay Coconut Rum. It is thin and a one-trick pony with a medicinal coconut after taste. It does mix well in drinks but it is not as good as Parrot Bay for around the same price. I will not buy this again.15.0 USD per Bottle

I have has the opportunity to try this offering from Redemption and while not the best I have ever had it is a solid Bourbon and its flavor is quite pleasant. I bought this a few weeks ago and did not know what to expect so here goes the review. It has a lighter color than Henry McKenna BiB or Evan Williams BiB and the nose is not as sweet. It reminds me of David Nicholson Reserve they are both spicey and robust Bourbons. It makes a very solid Old Fashioned and Manhatten however, it is a little young to sip in the summer. Overall this is a very good choice for a home bar or as a substitute for some Rye whiskeys. I do not see it very often around where I live but I will buy it again as space comes available in my bar.30.0 USD per Bottle

Rothman & Winter Crème de Violette
Floral Liqueurs — Austria
Reviewed March 18, 2020 (edited June 4, 2021)I have been playing around with classic cocktails and several drinks called for a "Creme de Violette" liqueur and this had a cooler bottle than the other one at my local liquor store. The liquid inside is a has a light floral scent that is also on the sweet side. I will get to the drinks in a little bit as I did try this by itself and it was not terrible. Neat it is very floral and syrupy sweet it smooths out with ice or water but I did not like it very much. I did add a few ounces of milk to some and the drink was not too bad, kind of like an adult purple cow with flowers. I have used it primarily to make the Aviation and Blue Moon cocktails and the difference this makes is wonderful. The Aviation can be made with or without but I greatly prefer it with the Creme de Violette. This is a very niche liqueur and it will probably take me a year or more to use the bottle but it is excellent at what it does and as long as I have space in my bar and I am making classic old cocktails then I will have this at home.20.0 USD per Bottle -
Hochstadter's Slow & Low Rock & Rye (84 Proof)
Rye — (BOTTLED IN) Scobeyville, New Jersey, USA
Reviewed March 18, 2020 (edited January 29, 2021)This is another drink I was able to try over the weekend and it is not my cup of liquor. It is a cool looking bottle and a classy label but the liquid inside is second rate. It is sweet and a little bit spicy but the balance is all wrong. My dad and I mixed it with several mixers and vanilla coke was good and ginger ale was not bad but none of the regular Rye cocktails were worth drinking. This is a novelty drink at best. If you like it fine but it is not high on my list of things to drink.24.0 USD per Bottle -
Evan Williams White Label Bottled in Bond Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed March 18, 2020 (edited April 4, 2020)I was finally able to try this wonderful bourbon this weekend and all of the great things said about this hidden gem is true. It is a full-flavored bourbon and for about $15 for 750 ml it truly is a steal. The nose is sweet with vanilla cake batter notes. It is a touch too hot to drink this in July in the Deep South. When water or ice is added the flavors open up and the heat goes away I don't smell the pepper and cinnamon but I love the flavor on the rocks. This stuff is absolutely amazing for what you will pay for it. It makes a great Old Fashioned and bourbon and coke is fine as well. While I will always try to keep a bottle of Henry McKenna BiB I will also do my best to keep this in my home bar as well. If you like full-flavored bourbon and want a great deal to get this one you will not be disappointed.15.0 USD per Bottle -
Bombay Sapphire Gin (47%)
London Dry Gin — England
Reviewed March 18, 2020 (edited November 9, 2020)This used to be one of the favorite Gins to drink it has a smooth flavor and very little burn. It was the first gin I had that I could drink in a cocktail. It has a very nice juniper nose and a slight citrus note. Mixed in a gin and tonic it is great and in a gimlet, it is also excellent. It has been supplanted by Roku and Drumshanbo Gunpowder Gin for the high end and Plymouth Gin for an everyday drinker. It is not a bad gin and certainly one to have in a bar.30.0 USD per Bottle -
It has been a long time since I have had Crown Royal and just recently I broke down and bought a bottle. I have changed because when I was a young lad this was a strong drink but now it is a thin light liquor. For a Canadian whiskey, it is not bad and I do give them credit for a great marketing department it just does not have the flavor or strength of even the most basic Bourbons like Jim Beam white-label or Evan Williams 1783. For the price, if one bottle of CR I could get half a gallon of Evan Williams 1783.25.0 USD per Bottle

Henry McKenna 10 Year Bottled in Bond Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed March 18, 2020 (edited April 5, 2020)What a wonderful Bourbon. I have had several bottles of this nectar of the gods and I have not had a bad bottle yet. When I first became interested in Bourbons I had this and it is what I judge all Bourbons against. The taste is amazing it has full flavors of vanilla and caramel it is the first bourbon in which I can taste the flavors I read about. This is also the first higher proof liquor that I have enjoyed neat. The only bad thing I can say about this stuff is that it has nearly doubled in price since I have started drinking it. It deserves a place in your home bar and it ranks right up there with many of the great Bourbons.30.0 USD per Bottle -
I have finally had a chance to try this amazing Rye whiskey. It had a wonderful nose of cinnamon and other spices I am not sure of all of the other flavors but they are great. The Rye mixes well with everything I have made with it. It makes a great Manhattan and Old Fashioned it is even nice as a sipper neat. The only reason I do not rate this higher is that it is nearly as hard to find in my area as W.L. Weller. This a very good Rye to have in your bar and if it is available it should be included. I have Bulleit in my home bar but I am always on the lookout for this one. I agree with Ctrexman this is the Buffalo Trace of Rye whiskeys. It is a wonderful addition to any home bar.30.0 USD per Bottle
