1800 Silver Tequila
Tequila Blanco — Tequila Valley, Jalisco, Mexico
Reviewed August 26, 2021 (edited September 30, 2022)Quintessential mixing tequila. Has all the grassy, sweet, and salty notes that you need at a good price point. Probably not interesting enough to sip neat, but you will not have to wince if you do. Perfect for homemade margaritas and palomas. -
Wow! If given a blind taste test with this and cherry cough syrup, I do not think I could tell the difference. Candy sweet with a strong medicinal flavor. OK with champagne or Prosecco in a fizz or royale, but I’d rather have something more interesting like creme de cassis. Had been meaning to try this but will not get again.

Coopers' Craft Original 82.2 Proof Kentucky Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed July 5, 2021 (edited November 19, 2022)Mild. Predominant flavors are pome fruit and oak. Inexpensive, but not my flavor profile. -
Early Times Kentucky Whisky
Blended American Whiskey — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed July 2, 2021 (edited February 4, 2024)Almost completely ethanol with a vanilla bourbony overtone. Definitely not a sipper for me, and there are better low cost whiskeys for mixing. Will not get again. -
Virginia Gentleman Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky and Virginia, USA
Reviewed June 30, 2021 (edited August 21, 2022)It does have some of the butter and corn flavoring of bourbon along with a bite of ethanol, but it mostly tastes and feels like bourbon flavored water. Definitely not for neat drinking, and there are much better offerings for mixers at just a few dollars more.
