Reviewed January 10, 2021 (edited April 13, 2021)Nose after 15 min rest: Vanilla oak, apple, spice, raisins, pepper, black cherry, toffee, caramel, apple, butterscotch, walnuts, the banana is very subtle compared to standard. Compared to normal wood Ford, this one is less peppery and fruity, has a darker nose Taste: sweet with black pepper, vanilla, butterscotch, black cherry, cinnamon, clove, nuts, transitioning to brown sugar, Caramel, touch of slight banana, walnuts, smoke, and leather at the very end. -

Reviewed January 10, 2021 (edited April 13, 2021)Nose after 20 min rest: Floral, butterscotch, vanilla, candied nuts, medium caramel, apples, confectionery sugar Taste: Confectionery sugar and butterscotch vanilla with a touch of red hots, baking spices, and heat in the initial taste. Carries on with vanilla and black pepper, a bit of bitter char, baking spices. Moderate finish. -

Reviewed January 10, 2021 (edited April 13, 2021)Nose after long rest: chocolate, vanilla, raisin, toasted walnuts, nougat, strawberry? Taste: Begins with a sweet and salty - sweet vanilla caramel and some salted butter and toast on the backend with some fruit coming in mid taste, chocolate covered strawberries, with that persisting through the finish. Moderately long finish with nuances developing between char, chocolate, and fruit cake, and some spicy anise. -

Reviewed January 10, 2021 (edited October 1, 2021)Meaty par excellence Nose after 30 min rest: Vanilla, dark caramel, raisins, butterscotch, almonds, stewed apples, spice, pineapple, strawberry, peaches, apricot Taste: Begins with sweet fruit, bright florals, the meatiness present in the 13 returns, this time with a darker and stronger presence, as the taste moves towards a more mature darker caramel. Long finish with notes of caramel, chocolate, baking spices. Almost a Whiff of smoke in there too. -

Reviewed January 10, 2021 (edited July 13, 2021)Nose has aromas of pepper, wintergreen, caramel, vanilla, nuts, brown sugar, graham cracker, apple and spice. Taste begins with vanilla and pepper. Transitions to a lightly salted caramel with the pepper notes persisting. Ends with a bit of baking spices in addition to the pepper. Short moderate finish Compared side by side to black label, the nose intensity is orders of magnitude greater on this with more distinctive pepper and a balancing sweet. The taste is definitely longer lasting and with some more nuance as well. Compared to 1783, nose is definitely more peppery than 1783. 1783 has a sweeter smoother nose with a hint of charcoal, more orchard fruits pear and apple and banana. More chocolate in sib -

Reviewed January 10, 2021 (edited March 27, 2021)Nose: honey, apricot, and some slight nuts seems to make up initial nose. Maybe nougat. Peach and tropical fruits emerge with warming and time. Taste: comes off stronger than nose would suggest. Strong honey, sugar, and vanilla then stone fruit -apricot and a slight pear. A touch of vanilla is added then a hint of nuts. More honey. Honey and fruit continue over a short-moderate finish. -
After 8 min rest; Nose is peat smoke, some bright citrus or orchard fruit notes. Iodine, caramel, vanilla, butterscotch. Taste: begins with moderate smoke, sweet caramel, apple, vanilla, then butterscotch, citrusy note towards the back of the palate, ends on a campfire and gentle long last smoke and caramel.

The maple gradually faded to leave behind more smoke, caramel. Cloyingly sweet but will stand well as a mixer by cutting down the sweetness to more acceptable levels. -

Reviewed December 11, 2020 (edited November 2, 2021)Spice in a candy store Nose after resting 20 min: Clove, pepper, rye grain and spice dominate. Fruitiness- grape gummies, bubblegum, orange, pear, pineapple, vanilla, caraway, caramel, sassafras, brown sugar, mint Taste: sweet and high proof start this taste, not cloying, leaving flavors of rye spice, pepper, root beer and brown sugar. Licorice comes on for a moment. As does some grape fruity l, bubblegum, Clive, and caraway tastes. Nice length finish. -
Chocolate covered hazelnut and raisins Nose after 15 min: Powerful nose with cognac and sherry type scents of hazelnut, chocolate, dried candied fruits, spice - clove and cinnamon, raisin, dried apple, orange, caramel Taste: taste begins with chocolate, spices, raisins and orange, then to caramel and nuts with the chocolate persisting. A strong hazelnut note mid to late in the taste. Ends on chocolate with a hint of smoke. Moderate finish
