Reviewed December 9, 2020 (edited February 14, 2021)Fruit and caramel amidst swirling smoke Nose after resting 15 min: Smooth peat/campfire smoke, a touch of lemon citrus, apple mixed with medium caramel, butterscotch, blueberry Taste: sweet fruity malt, a touch of bright acidity mixed with smoke, as it moves across the palate the rich fruits come to the fore then more clean smoke, candied nuts, and sweet caramel and vanilla. Ends on a milky chocolate and smoke note with a satisfying length of finish punctuated with more occasional notes of bright fruit in the smoke. Might even catch a blueberry note in the finish. -
Nose after a 10 min rest: Butter / butterscotch and vanilla are first followed by coconut, pineapple, chocolate, baking spices, brown sugar, mild hogo Taste: taste is immediately with fresh cane sugar, butterscotch, a hint of black tea, coconut, baking spices, and a hint of chocolate, spiced tea, and grass in the finish.

Reviewed December 9, 2020 (edited December 28, 2020)Nose after a 15 min rest: Apricot, apple, caramel, vanilla, almonds, chocolate, orange, nutmeg Taste begins with a creamy vanilla caramel sherry and orchard fruit that moves to a sweet confectionery sugar note, to stone fruit, orange, then dark chocolate and orange on the intermediate finish -
Nose: Immediately has strong peat on the nose, tar, behind the peat begins some sweet and fruity notes, rich vanilla, apricot, pineapple, and orange and a bit of lemon. Salted caramel, iodine, brine. Taste : yields a bright punch of citrus, salt, and stone fruit intermixed with peat, some heat from the high proof cask strength followed by waves of salted caramel, sea notes, and peat. Moderately long finish

Deeper is lemon and citrus, hints of tropical fruit Taste reveals an oily body, a simultaneous flavor of smoke, caramel sweetness, and bright citrus that subsides to a gentle and sweet smoky long finish long with peat smoke, iodine, caramel, wood smoke, and some residual citrus -

Reviewed December 9, 2020Nose after 5-10 min rest: Apples are the dominant nose, red ripe apple, caramel, spice- nutmeg, oaky vanilla, banana, floral notes, pepper, honey, almond nuttiness Taste: wow- intense blast of cinnamon, clove and nutmeg spices, apple, alcohol heat, then heavy caramel, oakiness, apples again, some nuttiness and a moderately long decay with apple, spices, vanilla, almonds, and medium caramel. A few drops of water turn down the burn and open up more higher fruit notes and caramel. -
Dessert by the fireplace Nose after resting 30 min: Sherry, honey, lemon, touch of peat, iodine, honeysuckle and some floral Taste: begins with sweet grain, light citrus, mild peat, vanilla, honey, then some slowly decaying vanilla, light caramel, butterscotch, and smoke wisps. Moderate length finish, easy and balanced.

Nose after a few minutes rest: banana and pineapple tangerine note, nutmeg spice, coconut, raisin, brown sugar, buttery almonds Taste: begins with some brown sugar, fruitiness with a bright citrus note, moves towards a quick caramel, then vanilla, then buttery vanilla, then butter. A touch of spice, banana, nuts, brown sugar, nutmeg and clove spice I n the finish. Moderate Short finish but good.
