1010 Washington Store Pick. 109 proof Nose- cherry pie, spearmint, fresh cut grass and bubblegum Taste- fun and complex. Nuttiness up front, salted caramel, toffee and rye bread on the back end Finish- long. Bready notes with cinnamon spice and black licorice. Nice mouthfeel Nicely complex blend of classic bourbon and rye notes.

Arkansas exclusive pick. 5yr 111.12 proof Nose- similar to a barely legal rye like EHT. Sweet mint, toasted marshmallows, butterscotch, maple syrup. Indulgent and desserty Taste- nice oily mouthfeel, berries, loads of caramel, molasses, barrel char, and baking spices. Really fun sweet & spicy pour Finish- pleasant, long and semi-dry. More red berries, fig and spice Such an enjoyable single barrel that reminds me of 4R OBSV. A gem for sure!

Nose- tons of spice. Cinnamon, big red gum, nutmeg and hay. Hot hot hot Taste- herbal and peppery. Wet grass, fig. On the spicy side yet too hot and unbalanced Finish- best part of the pour. Nice mouthfeel with a decent finish. Black licorice and more pepper/spice It’s OO turned up to 114 proof but this one is too hot, unbalanced and messy. Probably going to make some killer cocktails though

16yr, 70.8% ABV Noting but ethanol and acetone. Some come pops and faint caramel. Burns all the way down and is a completely muted yet brash, unenjoyable experience.

Nose- loads of ethanol followed up with caramel apples, clove and barrel char. Not the most pleasant of noses Taste- pb banana sandwich, dark chocolate and toffee. Old no. 7 dialed up a notch Finish- nice medium warm finish. Spices and black tea

Nose- cinnamon red hots and baking spices. Earthy undertones. A lot of heat for 101 proof Taste- classic Willett cinnamon spice. Green apple and a pleasant bready rye note. Still a tad rough around the edges Finish- short and spicy

Nose- chewy caramel candies and a good amount of cinnamon/black pepper spice. A hint or citrus and wet/funky wood notes coming through as well Taste- really nice balance between the oak and sweetness. Buttercream, caramel syrup Finish- brief but pleasant. More spice lingering A solid toasted barrel bourbon that has nice balance and complexity at 94 proof.

Nose- loads of cherry, chewy caramels, Taste- cherry medicine, wood funk, slight nuttiness and creamy vanilla Finish- light, cherry vanilla and spice lingers for a sec This is a pleasant pour but definitely overpriced. Classic bourbon notes and cherry flavors that remind me of BT. But all in all, a nice option at 90 proof

N- semi-sweet and funky. brown sugar and butterscotch along with wet leaves and ethanol T- lack of complexity but very drinkable. nutty, caramel notes F- light and fleeting. inoffensive notes of caramel and spice Overall, a solid budget bourbon. Heaven Hill bottom-shelfers can’t be beat, especially at $18/liter

Nose- heavy ethanol, salted caramel, raisins and plums, oak Taste- green apples, rich caramel, more dark fruits, baking spices Finish- long finish that lingers, oily mouthfeel, feels like you can chew it A solid barrel proof offering but a bit harsh to be considered great. I’ll be in the lookout for a store pick to see if there’s any difference. Also didn’t pick up any banana that folks often mention.
