Tastes

A little heat which lingers but is not objectionable. Maybe a bit of caramel and oak flavors but other than than kinda nondescript. Was hoping for more flavor but i call this one an average pour.

Add another to the list of favorite American Malts! Nice a smooth with a full body of flavors that transition thru thr taste. A nice and subtle woody flavor lingers which is wonderful.

Probably one of my favorite scotches. Just a slight hint of peat that does not linger yet reminds you that you are enjoying a scotch. A full bouquet of flavors just on the toasty side which remains smooth thru the taste. Maybe a hint of cigar on the backside with a little woody flavor combination. Not over powering but very pleasant.

A great pour from Elijah Craig! A bit spicy on the front end that mellows nicely with a full body of flavors. Maybe a hint of vanilla on the back end. One to keep on the shelf and enjoy when all is quiet.

Without a doubt one of the most flavorful bourbons i have tried in a while! Nice and smooth with an outstanding bouquet of flavors throughout the taste. A keeper for sure!

An interesting bourbon in that it seems a little different each time i have a pour. Certainly some spice but not real sure how to describe the flavors. Maybe a little cinnamon at times but today not so much. Maybe even a little hint of cherry in there at times. Will try it again and maybe add a drop or two of water and see what that brings… will report back as necessary…

A nice surprise! Very smooth with a cherry hint that gives way to a rich and full burbon. The more I taste it the more I like it! Gonna be a top shelf selection for sure!

Been drinking Woodford Reserve for years and picked up a few bottles of this double oaked at the distillery! Excellent! Such a smooth bourbon with a bouquet of flavors that continue to evolve long after you think you are done. At first the hint of cherry comes in with an overall richness. Then other fruity combinations appear along with a hint of banana. Top shelf for sure…

What an interesting rye! Flavor notes all over the place yet a fantastic finish!

When nosing I catch a hint of caramel. That first sip has a little heat but it tapers nicely. Following sips are much smoother with just a hint of fire but that adds to the other subtle notes of this fine bourbon. A complex flavor which I will currently refrain from evaluating at this time… just need to study this one a bit more…😏
