Right up front the peat and smoke take notice. The peat however does not hold on to over power. As that tapers the oak and some woody flavors come forth for a nice finish.

Oh my is this one interesting! A nice smooth bourbon with just a hint if heat that just goes away perfectly. Then it leaves a rather interesting dryness but not the roughness often associated with a dry bourbon. Late in the taste, long after you think you are done, a nice hint from the port barrels makes a subtle appearance. Nice pour for sure!

Ok. Not a fan. Feel like someone just stopped alomg the way and said no one will notice. Well I did notice and notice it will not be found on my bar. Dry, very nutty and oaky. Sorry, just not impressed.

A nice scotch. I had just a hitnif peat but not the overwhelming flavor you can find in other scotch. A nice smooth dram with just a small amount of heat and after savoring in the mouth the taste buds catch a hint of apple on the backside.

For 120 proof this is one smooth bourbon! I’ve tried many less potent with much more harahness and heat! A pleasant buttery and caramel flavor is hinted with a nice clean finish on the backside. I found this at 5 Points Package store on Amelia Island, Fl. This was a special barrel just for them. The merchant offered me a taste and away I went with this bottle. Unfortunately I do not live close to there but was delivering a custom dining set I made for someone livingndown there.

A somewhat complex rye. Kicks off with a little heat and a flavor and texture i guess is a little woody/caramel. As it mellows i get hints of a little buttery and floral note which is a nice touch.

Ok, first stab at an English whisky… note I didn’t say Scotch… about what I expect from the Brits… pretty uneventful ol chap! Mild flavor notes with a hint of nuttiness on the backside. Not bad but certainly not one l’m gonna chase down.

So this one kinda has that dry, sandpapery texture after it sits on your tongue for a moment. Lots of interesting flavors however on the backend almost reminiscent of a cigar. Upfront i think im getting some oak as this feels like a very young bourbon.

Again I think my tastebuds are offnon vacation… hard to pinpoint this one. Over all I’m finding i like malts. This is a nice one with a little heat but just enough to enjoy and let you know it was not the water glass you grabbed. Finishes nicely but not notably.

Maybe it’s my nose today but didn’t get the usual defining smells from this one. A nice smooth whiskey with a little heat on the tounge that fades nicely. A full and somewhat thick consistency that pleasantly coats your mouth without any lingering except for a slight hint of fruitiness towards the end. As whiskey goes a good one to have around.
