Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Barrel Proof Tennessee Whiskey
Tennessee Whiskey — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed September 11, 2021 (edited September 20, 2024)This is incredible - one of my all time favorites on my shelf. Don’t write off Jack Daniel’s because of Old No.7. Their barrel proof selections are phenomenal. Barrel number 20-20137 from rick R-20 bottled on 3-9-21 at 131.0 proof. “Info: Barrel #15-C-26(#12) Notes: Caramel, clover honey, faint cocoa, light banana, rich toffee. Dusty, musty, dank, tobacco. Rich on the palate – plum and honey initially on the palate followed by custard, cherry, brittle and caramels. Delightful and decadent.”74.99 USD per Bottle -
Henry McKenna 10 Year Bottled in Bond Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed September 9, 2021 (edited October 8, 2021)This is great - well above average; however, it'll probably my first and last bottle of McKenna. Not upset with the purchase, but I'd much rather have Four Roses single barrel which runs about $15 cheaper. I'm sure there's some absolute McKenna single barrel bangers out there, but I don't feel the lottery ticket is worth $50. Barrel number 10746 barreled on 4-27-11.49.99 USD per Bottle -

Good pick by The Party Source. Can't say it's better than the standard offering I had a while back but it's still great - well above average. I would love to have this around 100 proof. This is "Party Source Batch 10". Described as having "an intense baking spice medley that enlivens a deep layer of dried dark fruit, bittersweet chocolate and seasoned oak coated with a drizzle of caramel."54.99 USD per Bottle

This was a private group pick and my first bottle of New Riff’s single barrel offering. It’s good, just fine. I’m looking forward to visiting the distillery since it’s less than an hour away, but not in a rush to try more of their bourbon. I’ve heard good things about their rye - likely since rye typically doesn’t need to age as long and this and most of their bourbon is just a hair over 4 years old. I’m sure their bourbon will improve greatly as they build up aging stock. Barrel 17-1252, 102.5 proof57.0 USD per Bottle
