Elijah Craig Small Batch Single Barrel Select
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed April 23, 2022 (edited June 22, 2023)The beginning is a big blast of vanilla and brown sugar along with some butterscotch and creamed corn. This takes a somewhat downward turn on the palate, it tastes a bit funky almost like it is too young, but this single barrel is a 9yr. The oak spice dominates once you get past the musty funk followed by some dried fruits and some peppercorn. The spiciness of the peppercorn lingers for a pleasantly long finish, which somewhat makes up for the lackluster palate. Overall, serviceable but disappointing. This is by far one of the most interesting noses I've encountered. I'm getting g a mix of honey, black pepper spice, and molasses up front, then deeper down there hints of the more classical floral rye notes along with some spearmint. On the palate I am getting some nuttiness along with dried fruits and then the spice again shows up towards the back. The mouthfeel has a nice coating but is more on the thin side vs full bodied. The spice lingers at the very tip of you tongue for a medium to long finish, not once ever disclosing the actual ABV of this pour. Overall, very unique and very satisfying, but possibly will not be to everyone's liking if they are not already acquainted with Rye whiskies.90.99 USD per BottleSouthern Spirits - Beer, Wine & Liquor Store

The nose is quite weak, if you try you can get some buttered popcorn, vanilla and a hint of cherry. The palate is a bit more promising, the corn and cherry flavors are more prominent and there is also some oak spice that makes an appearance. Vanilla and butterscotch carry on through the surprisingly warm finish that lasts longer than I expected. Overall, certainly better than the white label, but not something to go out of your way to look for.

Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Coy Hill High Proof (2021 Special Release)
Tennessee Whiskey — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed February 27, 2022This has tons of beautiful brown sugar and caramel on the nose, with only the slightest hint of alcohol. It was easy to sip as well, it was hot but not in a bad way and not as much as you would assume. This thing was amazing! -
Elijah Craig Barrel Select Bourbon (Heaven Hill Bourbon Experience)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed February 26, 2022 (edited February 27, 2022)The nose definitely packs a punch with the high proof coming to meet you right out of the gate. Once you get past that you get some classic HH notes of vanilla and brown sugar, with the tiniest hint of candied apples. On the palate you get a quick hit of corn, but then the pepper spice comes in hot and heavy quickly after. There is also cream corn notes, but the spice overtakes all. The finish is a long, warm, and pleasant Kentucky hug. -
Belle Meade Bourbon Sherry Cask Finish
Bourbon — Indiana (bottled in Tennessee), USA
Reviewed February 25, 2022This is straight up weather's originals on the nose, with some dark fruits. Palate brings vanilla and some oak notes, then has a nutty finish that finishes too quickly. Very enjoyable. -

Elijah Craig Toasted Barrel Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed February 23, 2022 (edited March 31, 2022)This one starts out with all sorts of yumminess on the nose. I'm getting dark cherry, apples, cinnamon, and a bit of roasted marshmallows with a slight hint of alcohol. On the palate this has a nice creamy mouthfeel at first, but thins out towards the back. I get a sense of baking spices, honey, leather, and then some pepper spice at the end which carries through the medium to long finish. Overall, yummy.
