I'm at a bar right now, and because Frey Ranch is one that I've wanted to try, I figured this would be the perfect venue to give it a test drive. To be honest, this tastes more like Scotch to me than bourbon. Very earthy on the nose — almost like clay. But it's not bad. With all the other bourbons out there I want to try, not sure if I'll buy a bottle any time soon. But I could see a purchase in the not-so-distant future.

A friend told me his brother really likes this one, so I figured I'd give it a try. I only bought a tiny bottle, in the event that I wasn't blown away... and it was a good move. Not bad at all, but nothing special to my palate. Probably best as a mixer, and not a daily sipper. Planning to give this another try. I have a feeling it's better than I recall, and sometimes I need to pour a few glasses before I can truly weigh-in. A tiny sample bottle can't afford that.

Peaches at first, spicy heat with a preponderance of alcohol follows. The more I sip, the more I taste. Walnuts and sweet woodiness. Very creamy, as I've seen in others' reviews, which makes for a pleasing sipping experience. Not sure if this will become a go-to. But it's got potential... especially since some bourbons tend to open up and transform the closer I get to the bottom of the bottle.

Cinnamon and apples! Very spicy on the nose and palate. I get the "cherry cola" the expert review mentions. A little ice really helps reveal it. Not sure why this is getting so many 1 and 2 stars here. To each their own, I guess. But don't let the bad reviews deter you. This is good stuff. Strong at 100 proof. Stronger than some higher proofs I've had.59.0 USD per Bottle
