Bulleit Rye
Rye — Indiana (bottled in Kentucky), USA
Reviewed February 20, 2021 (edited April 28, 2024)Refrigerated Bulleit Bourbon & Rye before tasting neat. IMO both are around 3.5 with the Rye being slightly smoother with less heat on the backend, believe it or not, but isn’t as rich. Prefer bourbon over rye. -
Evan Williams White Label Bottled in Bond Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 2, 2020 (edited December 28, 2020)Wowzer! Lofty nose, palette, and finish. 100 proof brings heat, but it’s not a high rye burn like you might notice in Bulleit or 1792. There’s a lot going on here, especially for a bargain bourbon. Favor isn’t as rich and full, seems too tart. But, the lower price point and higher level of complexity might make this a good option for mixing cocktails without citrus.
