It’s very good- smooth and mellow taste with long finish and a slight kick.

It’s alright. Drank it in college and circled back because I can’t find any of my favs: Blanton’s, Buffalo Trace, Eagle Rare, Weller, and now Bulleit has become a challenge to find in Dallas TX. Obviously JD isn’t in the same league, but options are scarce-so drinking it with Topo

Not a straight up fan but works alright as a cocktail.

Refrigerated Bulleit Bourbon & Rye before tasting neat. IMO both are around 3.5 with the Rye being slightly smoother with less heat on the backend, believe it or not, but isn’t as rich. Prefer bourbon over rye.

Like it on ice, smooth, sweet, creamy, nutty, and easy to drink. Do acknowledge the expert’s point about contrasting aftertaste and burn.

Wowzer! Lofty nose, palette, and finish. 100 proof brings heat, but it’s not a high rye burn like you might notice in Bulleit or 1792. There’s a lot going on here, especially for a bargain bourbon. Favor isn’t as rich and full, seems too tart. But, the lower price point and higher level of complexity might make this a good option for mixing cocktails without citrus.

Did a blind tasting with Maker’s Mark. Maker’s has more vanilla, sweetness, and floral favor. JB Black has more smoke, oak, and spice with a subtle hint of sweetness and vanilla. It’s smoky but smooth and could be sipped on ice or stirred into a cocktail with ease. IMO Maker’s Mark is a 3.5

Slightly smoky w/ a mellow spicy kick. Sips nice over ice, with Topo Chico, and makes a damn good mint julep and old fashioned. Readily available (tbd) and becoming a favorite go-to. Almost every bourbon has it’s “place”, this one is perfect for a campfire.
